USA: three Muslim students shot dead on campus

Three members of one family, all Muslims, were shot dead on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday. The motive for the killing is however not yet determined .
The "Chapel Hill shooting" moves America and the world. In the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, this small town in North Carolina, where a very famous university campus was the scene of a triple homicide in a family. The gunman, identified as Craig Stephen Hicks, 46, went to the police and was imprisoned in Durham.
Police confirmed three deaths in a statement and said that if it did not exclude a hate crime, the preliminary investigation seems to favor a futile problem of neighborhood. "Our preliminary investigation indicates that the crime was motivated by a neighborhood problem about a parking space," said the spokesman of the police in Chapel Hill.
"Our investigators want to know what prompted Mr. Hicks to commit an act so tragic and senseless. We understand the concerns about the possibility that it is an act of hate and examine all tracks to determine if this was the case, "said Police chief, Chris Blue, in the same statement.
Emotions of the Muslim community
The victims, identified as Deah Shaddy Barakat, 23, his wife Yusor Abu-Salha, 21, and sister of the latter Razan Abu-Salha, 19, all three are Muslim. According to local media, Deah Barakat was sophomore dental faculty. His wife had started his studies in the same sector in the coming year. Razan Abu-Salha was a student at the University of North Carolina.
A Facebook page was created in memory of the victims ("Our three winners") in which we see a photo of them smiling, apparently taken at a graduation ceremony. The two young women wear a scarf, and one of them also has a traditional graduate hat.
